i have decided that i am going to bite the bullet and buy a house. this is something that i have wanted for a long time and something that i put on hold for someone else. i spent the last year and a half spending every moment engulfed in a failed relationship. thinking of what i could do to make it better, trying to do things to make it better, i wanted it to work so bad, but obviously i was the only one. i am sad that it didnt work out and i will always care about jake. i learned a lot in the past year and half, a lot about love, life, and mostly myself. I believe that he is my soul mate, but not the kind of soul mate you may be thinking of...
"People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.
A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.
A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life..." - Eat, pray, love.
now it is time for me to do me, to do what i want to do, to do what i think is best for me.
back to house hunting...
we looked at 5 houses today. the two foreclosures were atrocious. we did see two places in brambleton that were very nice, one was more in my preferred price range, but i could probably afford either. one was a stacked condo with a garage, which my mom thinks is so important, i on the other hand have never had a garage, so for me, its not a big deal. it would be nice, but not worth the difference in price. the one that i am really interested in is on the third floor in the same complex. it has three bedrooms and two full baths and a really nice open floor plan. i would have to rip up the carpet, but i think with a little TLC, it could definitely be my home. i have to do some number crunching, but i think the cheaper, 3 bedroom is better for me than the nicer two bedroom with a garage. who knows, maybe something even better will come up, but i really like this one.

ReplyDeleteDamn it, it shows I deleted that comment? What the hell good is that?
ReplyDeleteAre you just looking in the Ashburn area? Good luck with that. Why does she think a garage is so important? Just so the weather doesn't beat up on your car?
